Frequently Asked Questions
Find answers to common questions about MacUtility.
What is MacUtility?
MacUtility is a modern, lightweight mouse and keyboard automation application designed specifically for macOS. It allows you to automate clicks, drags, key presses, and custom sequences easily.
Is MacUtility free?
Yes! MacUtility is free to download and use for all core click and scroll automation features. An upcoming Premium tier will offer advanced sequence recorders and schedule triggers for power users.
Is MacUtility safe to use?
Absolutely. MacUtility runs entirely locally on your Mac. It does not require an account, does not upload your personal data to any servers, and uses privacy-first, fully anonymized telemetry for basic usage analytics.
Why does it require Accessibility Permissions?
macOS security rules require any application that programmatically simulates mouse clicks or keyboard strokes to be granted 'Accessibility' permissions. You can enable this in System Settings > Privacy & Security > Accessibility.
Does it support Apple Silicon?
Yes. MacUtility is built natively as a Universal Binary. It runs at full performance natively on Apple Silicon (M1, M2, M3, M4 chips) as well as Intel-based Macs.
Will it get me banned in games?
MacUtility features 'Human Randomization' (Time and Target Jitter) to simulate human-like interactions, which reduces detection. However, we advise using it responsibly, as using automation in multiplayer games may violate their specific Terms of Service.
